ABOUT

FRANCIS HAYES

I am a passionate writer who strives to engage the reader with the power and beauty of language. I have spent time teaching history, and spend much of my waking time learning and studying it. History is like nothing else, and unlike Fiction, the stories are sometimes too surreal to believe. However, we know them to be true, and that's why they are all the more amazing.

I specifically have a fascination with war and also the men who fight it. Their motives, goals, and mostly their courage. Often, I will close my eyes and place myself standing on the beaches of Normandy. Looking up at the hell of fire raining down on me and my countrymen. I try to search my soul and see what I would do. Would I have the courage to fight? Or would I stand in terror at the edge of certain death? I'd like to think I'd fight, but honestly I don't know. Those men, and all men of war, are made of something special. Something unique and worthy of praise of imitation.

I write for those men, so that one day, perhaps, I can become one.
